I got a CHI straightener and I love it. It heats up so fast it is unbelievable. Then when you start to use it you don't have to go over your hair more than once. Maybe twice for people with curly hair but it is so easy. They also make all kinds of products to go with the CHI. keep in mind though CHi's run from the 100's to the 180 dollar price range. But they are completely worth it.
CHI is pretty good, but I use a Paul Mitchell flat iron at work... I LOVE IT! Kinda pricey ($125-150, depending on where you go) but worth every penny!

chi is the best brand out there. they are expensive, but worth it! i bought a different brand because it was cheaper than the chi, and ended up returning it and spending the extra $$$

my hair is so curly and i used a chi flat iron and it gets it amazingly straight it unbelievable!
CHI- I have thick, super curly hair and the Chi works great! You should get the Infusion serum and thermo spray to go with it. It will be soft and healthy looking.

I got a P-CHI which is a professional CHI. and i LOVE it. It was pretty expensive but completely worth the money!! :)
