If a teen girl has thick, kinky hair, and wants it to lie flat, do those electric hair straighteners work? If so, what brand is best, or does it not make a difference? Will spending more money get me a better flat iron?Do hair 'flat irons' work?
Hi! use ceramic plated flat irons and use small sections to flat iron that way the heat from both sides will penetrate through and give good results the best flat irons to use are the chi or the iTech brand these are very good products to use. it depends on the hair product that you are using on your hair along with the use of your flat-iron. some thermal sprays to use for kinky hair would be the Kenra product line and the Farouk product line . You didn't say wheater or not your hair was kinky as a result of being bi-racial or of other ethnic back-ground. Good-luckDo hair 'flat irons' work?
YES they are fantastic! Make sure you get ceramic and use a frizz control sirum also.
they do work, and i think it depends on ur hair for which one works better. ive tried alot of different types of irons and only 2 work really well on me. i cant think of the names right now, but you should try atleast 3 different ones. it also depends if you know how to use them.
Yes, get a Chi. They work very well. They are pretty expensive ($80-100) but it's worth it.
I couldn't live without my straightener! It doesn't make my hair perfectly straight or keep it straight for days, but it certainly improves a ton. My hair dries really curly, and I can get pretty straight hair by straightening. The more expensive ones do work better. I've heard Chi is an extremely good brand, but expensive. Some people can straighten curly hair really fast. It takes me 40 minutes but I guess that depends on the brand and the person doing it...good luck with your hair!
Yeah they work, i have really thick hair and it works fine on me. Yeah if u spend more money on it, it is better. Try to find one that is ceramic. Conair metal ones work ok too.
YES OMG! i love those things! the CHI ones work so good!
I couldn't live without my flat iron! I have a Maxi one, but I'm sure better ones are out there. Give it a try!
Even though my hair is straight - they do work. I don't think the brand matters, if your hair's thick, make sure the flat iron is large. . .
I have really thick hair and I use Conair Ceramic Technology. It works really well for me :)
dont go cheap if you want to buy one , i ama hairstylist and we use 3 different brands all expensive , but you have to be really careful with a flat iron , after a while they will damage your ahir , especially if you do it everyday
first off, flat irons i believe are the same thing as straighteners, just different names. and yes it should work if you put it on the right setting and take your time doing it. you can also try Straighten-Up SunSilk products. it comes in a purple bottle and is availible in shampoo, conditioner, and 24/7 Creme. i use the Anti-Poof products, and they work like a charm.
yes. but depending on the one you may have.
yes but they damage your hair soooo much if you want to use one you should use it once a week
YES THEY SAVE MY LIFE :]
I have very thick, frizzy, wavy hair. When i use my flat iron my hair looks like half of what it really is. I have the ';Remington Wet 2 Straight. It is really good. It has three levels- Red for wet hair, purple for damp hair, and blue for dry hair. It cost like $60. My sister has a cheaper one that only goes up to like level 25 but mine goes up to like 40 or something. I hope i Helped
yes i love them, they work so good for me
I don't know if I could live witout my flat iron. Spending more money, will often result in a longer lasting, better iron. I would recommend an FHI. I own one, and I have thick, wavy hair, it straightens it perfectly. CHI and SEDU are very good as well.
yes they work! i use a conair one and it helps out alot!! I'm really glad i got one!!!
Yes the more money usually the better. I have very thick hair and i got one for about 120$ that works great! Its made by MAXIGLIDE and is wonderful. also othe ones might work just depends how thick it is
every hair is different
but my hair is very ';sppecial';
straightner doesnt work
in my hair
its already straight
but i want it flat
so it sums up that flat iron doesnt work in my hair
now that was a short story
heheh
well yes it does work and i have the chi..it was expensive but it works really good or if u want a cheaper one pick one from
http://www.conair.com
I LOVE my flat iron and could not do without it. I paid aprox. $125.00 for it and it's worth every penny. I used to get stressed but not anymore, the brand I have is VHI.
Yes, they do work! Once I used flat iron, it makes my hair less puffy. I've tried expensive salon brand and cheap store brand. I find expensive salon brand last longer and my hair looks better and doesn't take as long to make my hair the way I like it. I suggest you to go to a salon and see what they have. Try to get one with a temperature control on it.
However, I stop using it on my hair because it damages my hair when I use it every day. Now, I use it on special occasion only.
For long run, I say you should look into getting a hair mask, good conditioner and shampoo to smooth out your hair. It's less work for you and much healthier than making your hair go through a hot hot iron.
yes they work lovely, but some times I want my hair to have ';body'; but on some days I just have to use my iron! lol
They do work, but it ruins your hair. All the heat makes your hair really weak and brittle. You will regret using it in about two months.
yes my hair is just like yours but i wouldn't use it a lot it could damage your hair in the long run like the very next day..i know i have expericenced... i sudgest a product for smooth straight hair its called Extreme Anti Snap by REDKEN. it's real nice and smooth in the end and helps to treat it from damaged or prevent damage.
yea it does, if you want 2 get 1 go to a salon and get one. ive learned cheap doesnt work.
