If you straighten your African-American hair (flat iron), how do you moisturize it without it reverting back?

Most moisturizer that I see in the beauty supply stores are a water-base.

Because of that, when I want to moisturize my hair when it's straightened, it reverts back to it's afro state.

Meaning, I have to put more heat into my hair, which is something I don't want to do because it isn't good for my hair.If you straighten your African-American hair (flat iron), how do you moisturize it without it reverting back?
Daz is really good, or just try pink moisturiserIf you straighten your African-American hair (flat iron), how do you moisturize it without it reverting back?
moisturize before you straighten
first off do not moisture your hair with hair lotion because its going to be an afro again you should always uselight hair grease and add very little on your roots and on top of your hair and thats it very little so it gives it some volume and length and its moisutrized but dont add hair lotion because there is actaully water in the lotions and chemicals which actually causes your hair to poof up
Wash and Condition your hair. Blow dry then apply Paul Mitchell smoothing serum and flat iron. That should do the trick.
i have a african-american haired friend, and what she does is,

Gets the hair Straighteners and put moisturizer on a comb, then she takes the section of hair and as she is straightening it, puts the comb through and runs it down with the straightener. so the heat goes to your hair first, then immediately has moisturizerr on it after.
